Sen Dineschandra

Eastern Bengal Ballads are a collection of narrative poems (which were to be sung in the rural regions of different districts of Bengal) ranging from 16th to the 19th century. Possessing great literary and historical significance, they also throw much light on the social and cultural history of that part of Bengal, and also serve as material for history of the rise and development of Bengali people. These ballads were composed straight from the unsophisticated people?s heart.
