
Manoj Kachangal
Author - Vinod Bhardwaj - Born in 1948 in Lucknow. Vinod Bhardwaj is an eminent Hindi poet, art curator, and art and film critic. He has written extensively on modern and contemporary Indian art in the arts pages of Jansatta, Dinman, Navabharat Times, Sahara Samay and Outlook (Hindi) for more than 30 years. Along with Souza and Swaminathan he contributed an essay on Indian art for a volume published by Glenbarra Art Museum, Japan. He was the subject expert and co-script writer of a 12-part video series presenting the story of Indian painting (produced by Consortium for Educational Communication, an autonomous body established by UGC). He was also a subject expert for Glimpses of Indian Painting (made in association with the Ministry of External Affairs); for a 13-part series A Painter's Portrait (for Doordarshan); a film on Progressive Artists Group (for National Gallery of Modern Art). another on printmaking (for NGMA), and one on K G Subramanyan (also for NGMA). He has also curated the 'Art in Cinema' programme for Lalit Kala Akademi and India Habitat Centre. For Art Indus Gallery he curated a special exhibition titled Arts in Art. Recipient of the prestigious Sanskriti Award in 1981, Vinod Bhardwaj was invited to serve as a jury member for the first International Non-Feature Film Festival in Leningrad. He is currently working on curating a show and a book on the works of Souza for Dhoomimal Art Gallery. He has also been the guest editor of Lalit Kala Akademi's Samkaleen Kala in 2005. He lives and works in New Delhi. Editor - Ratnottama Sengupta - A natural writer with a keen interest in the arts, Ratnottama Sengupta has been writing for newspapers and journals; participating in discussions on the electronic media; teaching mass communication and curating exhibitions on Indian art. She has written on Hindi films for Encyclopaedia Britannica: guest edited volumes on Indian cinema, and on sculpture for the Lalit Kala Akademi, served on five National Film Awards juries and herself won a National Award in 2001 for her writings on cinema. Born in Mumbai on January 27, 1955, she did her MA in literature from Bombay University. In 1998 she did a fellowship in Oxford. Having extensively travelled through UK, Europe, Asia and Australia, she has written on the social and cultural life in these countries. Author of Krishna's Cosmos, the biography of pioneer printmaker Krishna Reddy, she has also edited a volume on Mumbai based artist Jehangir Jani. She is currently editing an Encyclopaedia on Indian Culture, The Arts Editor of The Times of India, she was recently presented the Bharat Nirman Award for Journalism.
