Jitender Joshi

Shri Jitender Joshi was born in Chialsi village of Tehri Garhwal, which is still Uttarakhand,inaccessible; he gave shape to his entrepreneurship at a young age by setting up an incense stick powder manufacturing factory named ""Joshi & Company"". He had a vision, which he devoted on working for the welfare of the people. In 2000, he set up the Sushila Devi Centre for Professional Studies & Research Society. In 2002, Law College Dehradun was set up by him and has become a landmark for the State. A dream of horticulture seen by him on the soil of Himachal in 2004 and 2005 is singing the song of success today. Hardly anyone would have such a wide range of apple orchards with improved varieties. With tireless efforts, he took steps to establish a university from a college in the field of higher education and established Uttaranchal University in 2013. Through his foresight and high quality of education, Uttaranchal University has been awarded the NAAC A+ grade and became the first university in the State of Uttarakhand to receive it in the first cycle of accreditation. The credit for Mr. Joshi's unprecedented achievement must go to his perseverance, zeal and relentless efforts.
