S.V. Seshagiri Rao

Born in 1936 at Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, Sarvepalli Venkata Seshagiri Rao had his education in Osmania University, Hyderabad, and in Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. For over three decades he taught mathematics and geophysics and supervised research in these and allied fields in Osmania University. He was a guest scientist in Data Processing at the Geological Prospecting Institute, Moscow and in Physics of Earth at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics of UNESCO, Trieste, Italy, in the mid 1970s. He had the distinction of authoring research papers and books with reputed Russian scientists, Prof A.G.Tarkhov, Dr.A.A.Nikitin and Dr.G.A.Solivev. He had published about 50 research papers in mathematics and geophysics in reputed international and national journals. He served as Chancellor, Central University of Kerala, Kasaragod. Prof.Rao has been a prolific writer on issues of national and social importance. His End of Communist Utopia, Political Islam in India and his most recent book,An Outline Of History And Culture Of India, have received wide acclaim.
