Sreemathy Venkatraman, MS (Food & Nutrition), DND, CDE, CBN, is a clinical nutritionist and chief dietitian at BRAINS Hospital, Bangalore. She was a visiting lecturer for nutrition at Manipal College of Nursing for a few years. She has more than 17 years of experience in the field of clinical nutrition and dietetics. She has also specialized in community nutrition for sustainable development from IGNOU. She has specialized in food science and nutrition from California State University, Northridge, USA. She has written several articles and columns in Deccan Herald and Deccan Chronicle, and has done several television shows on nutrition and health. Having done a certification course under Project Hope, affiliated to Diabetes International, UK, she is one of the diabetes educators in India. She has also been chosen as one of the representatives for Global Nutrition Program (GNP) from Karnataka, affiliated to American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN). She is a certified bariatric nutritionist and has also specialized in critical care nutrition. She is a member of European Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ESPEN); member of ASPEN; life member of Indian Association of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (IAPEN); regional officer of IAPEN, Bangalore Chapter; life member of Indian Dietetic Association (IDA); and life member of Nutrition Society of India (NSI).
