T.P. Verma & A.K. Singh

Prof. Thakur Prasad Verma (b. 1931), a reputed historian, epigraphist, numismatist and indologist, retired as Professor of Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He has authored or edited, singly or jointly, over a dozen books and over 150 research papers published in leading journals and edited volumes. He is also the former Editor of the Journal of Numismatic Society of India. He has supervised Ph.D. research of 27 students. Prof. Verma is the founder-member of Indian History and Culture Society, New Delhi; Indian Archaeological Society, New Delhi and Epigraphical Society of India, Mysore. He has delivered numerous prestigious endowment lectures. Dr. Arvind Kumar Singh (b. 1959) is Professor and Head of Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology, Jiwaji University, Gwalior (India); obtained Master?s Degree in two disciplines and Ph.D. from Banaras Hindu University; was awarded the University Medal and Anant Sadasiva Altekar Medal for securing first position in Postgraduate Examination. Fellowship and Projects from different agencies were awarded to him. He is deeply involved in researches, mostly in the fields of Palaeography and Epigraphy. He has seventy-six research papers to his credit, besides six books: 1. Development of Nagari Script, 1991, Delhi. 2. Prachin Bharatiya Murtikala evam Chitrakala, 1994, Bhopal. 3.
