Rajnish Karki is among the foremost Indian scholars and advisors on strategy, policy and management. His work, rooted in business-economic history, uses case and multidisciplinary research methods.

The second edition of Competing with the Best: Strategy, Organization Design and the Configuring of a Successful Corporation was released in early 2024.

He has advised over three dozen Indian companies and business groups, multinational corporations, professional firms and institutions, and the government; and held faculty appointments at IIM Ahmedabad, IIT Bombay and LBSNAA, Mussoorie.
