Dalpat Chauhan, Hemang Ashwinkumar Tr

Joseph Macwan (author) (1935-2010) lived and taught in Anand, Gujarat. He told the stories of Dalit lives in the region as vivid narratives told in the Charotari dialect. Angaliyat is his most acclaimed novel, and Joseph Macwan is Gujarat's well-known Dalit writer. He won several state and national awards for literature. Rita Kothari (tranlator) is Professor of English, Ashoka University, India. She is a multilingual scholar of translation (theory and practice), language politics and identity in India. Her ethnographic work is based out of western India, especially Gujarat and Sindhi-speaking parts of Kutch and Rajasthan. She writes especially on local and marginalized communities. One of her acclaimed works is a seminal book on translation studies, Translating India: The Cultural Politics of English.
