Rajnath Singh An able administrator with unparalled organisational skills, Shri Rajnath Singh has attained unique place in Indian Politics. He was born on 10 July, 1951 in a farmer family in Babhora Village, Distt. Chandauli of Uttar Pradesh. His determination towards Nationalism inspired him to become a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh during his school days. He was elected to UP legislative assembly in 1977. He was given various responsibilities in the Party before he took over as President of UP Bharatiya Janata Party in 1997 and under his excellent leadership BJP won 58 seats in 1998 Parliamentary Elections. As Education Minister in Uttar Pradesh in 1992, he took initiative and got Anti Copy Act passed which is regarded as landmark in Uttar Pradesh education system. As Surface Transport Minister in N.D.A. Govt, he started ?National Highway Development Project??the dream project of Hon?ble Atalji. As Agriculture Minister, he reduced the interest rate on the loans for farmers from 14% to 8%. He also established Farmer Commission and initiated Farmers Income Insurance Scheme. Rajnathji was appointed the BJP National President in 2005 and again in 2013. He has ensured women participation in the organisation and has infused enthusiasm amongst the party workers. During a span of 40 years of his social and political life, he has put an indelible mark of achievements by sheer discipline, dedication and hard work.
