After the horrors of the Kalinga war, the devastated Emperor Ashoka embraced Buddhism. Transformed by his newfound beliefs, he created 'The Nine Unknown' - a secret society that would alter the course of history forever. The mission of the secret society was to safeguard the ancient knowledge for the benefit of humanity, pre- served within manuscripts that were constantly updated. Over two and a half millennia later, a malevolent group called 'The Sword of Power' surfaces with an ambition to rule the world. Their target -stealing the elusive manuscripts guarded by 'The Nine Un- known', even if it means killing the members off. Caught in a battle between the two secret societies is a PhD student named Ananya, who faces an imminent danger for protecting the ancient knowledge that even Ashoka feared ending up in the wrong hands. As a perilous chase for survival ensues, will Ananya and 'The Nine Unknown' come out unscathed? Can Ashoka's secret stay hidden in the pages of history forever?
Chinmay Patgaonkar is a teenager studying at Indus Interna?tional School Pune. He loves writing, reading, and travelling to new places. He takes a fervid interest in history, movies, books, and sports. Above all, he loves meeting people and exchanging stories. He published his first novel in 2022, titled 'The Last 21 Hours: A Bullet That Shook theWhite House'. Amid his rigorous IBDP academics, Chinmay finds time to dive into his fictional world and create stories. He lives in Pune with his parents, grand- parents, sister, and his dog Angel.
