China in Xi Jinping’s New Era looks through the domestic political and socioeconomic decisions China has made during Xi`s “New Era”. It argues that Xi Jinping has emulated Mao Zedong to become a populist nationalist strong leader on the one hand, and announced the arrival of China as a serious player at the global stage on the other. The former is mirrored by his “people oriented” approach to development, alleviation of poverty, the “internal circulation” and the “common prosperity” etc., campaigns.
