This extremely well written book by well known television anchor Gaurav C Sawant is a fast paced, as seen-on-the-ground reportage of the Kargil war in 1999. He travelled and stayed with the troops reporting from extreme conditions.There are books by experts with analysis and those by army generals who researched and wrote on the war. This book stands out as it tells the story of the brave soldiers at war as it unfolded on the ground, day by day, week by week.
