Eminent scholar and academic Dr K S Radhakrishnan’s book, Epistemology and Aesthetics of the Mahabharata, is a philosophical study of the epic intended to expose its epistemological infrastructure and aesthetic content. The Vedic tradition has formulated a unique epistemology, which is different from the Eurocentric epistemology. The book successfully busts the myth propagated by Western scholars and their Indian counterparts that the Mahabharata is a gospel of war. It is a Gita of peace and harmony.
Dr KS Radhakrishnan is an eminent academic, writer and orator. He has served as the Chairman of the Kerala Public Service Commission between 2011 and 2016. A profound scholar, he is the former Vice-Chancellor of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit between 2004 and 2008. He had also served as a member of Indian Council for World Affairs, New Delhi; a member of the Governing bodyof Indian Council of Philosophical Research, New Delhi, and a member of the Governing Body of Madras Institute of Developmental Studies, Chennai. Radhakrishnan used to teach Philosophy in various Government colleges of Kerala. He was associated with the MG University, Kottayam, as a research guide. Besides, he has published more than one hundred articles in journals and authored more than sixteen books on Philosophy.
