The book “India Moving from Act (Look) East Towards Indo-Pacific: Exploring the Roles of Manipur and Mizoram” examines India’s shifting geopolitical focus from its “Look East” policy to the broader Indo-Pacific strategy. It highlights the critical roles of Manipur and Mizoram, two northeastern states, in this transition. The authors argue that these states’ cultural, economic, and strategic connections with Southeast Asia and the Indo-Pacific region make them vital gateways for India’s engagement with the region. The book explores how Manipur and Mizoram can leverage their unique positions to facilitate trade, investment, and cultural exchanges, thereby contributing to India’s Indo-Pacific vision. By examining the opportunities and challenges facing these states, the book provides insights into India’s evolving regional strategy and its implications for the country’s foreign policy and economic development.
Dr. Dona Ganguly has been working as Assistant Professor in the department of Political Science in The Bhawanipur Education Society College since 2012. She has completed her Post Graduation, MPhil and PhD in International Relations from the department of International Relations, Jadavpur University. She has specialised in Southeast Asian Studies. She has authored several articles in various national journals and has contributed chapters in many edited books published by both national and international publishers. She has presented scholarly articles in many national and international seminars. She has been selected as the Executive Council Member of Indian Association for Asian and Pacific Studies (IAAPS).
