He is PhD in Economics from Indiana University, USA. He is a teacher, researcher and financial economist, has over four decades of teaching experience and has taught at Andhra University and BITS (Pilani). He undertook research at NCAER and RBI and organized EDPs at IFMR (Chennai) and MDI (Gurgaon). His contribution to the capital market field was acknowledged by the High Powered Committee on Stock Exchange Reforms in their Report in 1984. A prolific writer, he has authored among others 'Fiscal Policy for Equitable Growth', 'Merchant Banking', 'The Working of Stock Exchange in India', 'Introduction to Project Finance', 'International Financial Markets and India', 'Modern Commercial Banking', 'Corporate Governance' and 'International Financial Management'.
