The book is divided into sections covering preparation and optimisation of patients for surgery, anaesthesia techniques and equipment, post-operative care, regional anaesthesia and anaesthesia for specific procedures and situations. There are additional sections on chronic pain, safety and quality assurance in anaesthesia and appendices on unusual medical conditions af fecting adults and children and their anaesthetic implications.
Dr. Judith Dinsmore; Consultant Anaesthetist, St. George?s Hospital, London. She has published original ar ticles, chapters, and books on a variety of topics and is a past President of NACCS, representing the society on several national working groups. She is on the Associate Editorial Board of the British Journal of Anaesthesia and Journal of Neurosurgical Anesthesiology. She was an examiner of the RCoA Final FRCA exam and for the JCIE Neurosurgery exam and is now an examination assessor. Dr. Argyro Zoumprouli; Consultant & Honorary Senior Lecturer in Anaesthesia & Intensive Care. She has published original ar ticles and chapters in anaesthesia books. She is the Regional Lead for Organ Donation for the Southeast of England. Past Clinical Director of the Simulation Laboratory at St. George?s Hospital has worked on creating interprofessional educational activities focused on improving patient safety.
