This English translation of the original Persian text, authored by Sāqī Must‘ad Khan, details Aurangzeb’s rise and succession to the Mughal throne. The volume records events chronologically, including names of people and places, based on official reports housed in the Royal Asiatic Society of Bengal under the Bibliotheca Indica series. It narrates important facts and major events of the period on a daily basis, making it a primary source for the history of Aurangzeb’s reign. The translation is accurate, fluent, and communicative, while remaining faithful to the original text. This work is a valuable addition to the sources for understanding Mughal political history.
