This book makes an in-depth study of the State of Malwa, covering the period from 1698 to 1765. Describing the geographical features of the state, it discusses at length its economic, political and social life. Highlighting its strategical significance, it presents a detailed account of the Mughal- Maratha struggle and the consolidation of Malwa. Also it makes two very important corrections in the known history of the province: it has conclusively proved that GirdharBahadur and DayaBahadur were both killed on the same day and in the same battle, and that the Hindu Mandioi letters were a purefabrication.
Raghubir Sinh, the eldest son of Sir Ram Singh, the ruler of Sitamau state in Madhya Pradesh, was a noted historian. He was the first scholar who earned his D.Litt. in History from Agra University, Agra, under the supervision of renowned historian Sir Jadunath Sarkar.
