The book is structured into two parts. The first part, mechanics and calculations of textile machines examines various types of power derives used in textile machineries, types of gears, design aspects of cone drums used in spinning machines, different types and designs of cams used in the ring frames and looms. The second part of the book focuses on energy calculations I n textile machines, frictional forces and their calculations, clutches and brakes.
Dr N. Gokarneshan got his degree in textile engineering from Karnataka University, post graduation from Bangalore University, and doctorate from Anna University, India. He had a stint of about 8 years in textile industry and remaining years in teaching. He has published more than 1 papers including a number of scholarly reviews in various leading journals and presented some papers in conferences. He has authored 9 books. He has also completed some sponsored projects. He is recipient of a number of recognitions and rewards for his contributions in the field. He is presently working as Professor and Head at the Park College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.
