A systematic problem solving approach in nursing has led to emergence of nursing process. The need to implement the nursing process has become more apparent as it is a means to provide comprehensive and individualized nursing care. This book through its three sections describes the nursing process and nursing models for nursing practice. It deals with each phase of the nursing process, nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The later part of the book provides case studies with the application of the nursing process for a medical, surgical and a pediatric patient. The guidelines for the application of the nursing process are also included. Appendices provide additional specialized case sheets for nursing assessment and nursing care plan.
