"This volume is the much awaited sequel to Air Marshal Raghavendran’s autobiography Panther Red One – The Sequel. The first book covered his career in the ‘Field/Line’ appointments. These were appointments at the ‘Sharp End’ or Combat Units. The current book covers his career at higher level ‘executive’ appointments, except for one return to command a Fighter Base again. These appointments were less thrilling on a daily basis but involved bigger challenges. He was well qualified for the series of posts he filled because he had been in every slot at the ‘Sharp End’ many times over, whether it be a Flight Commander, Squadron Commander or Base Commander. He was aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the ‘Field’ formations and the men who physically went to war. He personally knew most of them and they knew him and his capabilities. He was only too aware that faith and loyalty were two way traffic. It was well known that the plans and orders that he formulated at higher levels would be doable and optimum. The narration is episodic and highlights specific, important activities or aspects and is not a chronological recount of his career. No doubt you will enjoy it as much as he did walking through the most sought after appointments in the Indian Air Force." \n
