This is Volume XXIII of the People of India series. The Anthropological Survey of India launched the People of India project in 1985 to generate an anthropological profile of all communities of India. As part of this all-India project the ethnographic survey of all the communities of Haryana (82) was taken up in a collaboration with local scholars. The results of this study were discussed at the workshop held at Hissar in August, 1989. This is a first-class demography and reference work for the area. \n
