Dr. Campbell is a former Professor and Chair of Neurology at the Uniformed Services of Health Sciences. He is also a writer, artist, retired U.S. Army colonel and former flight surgeon who has published over 100 scientific articles and book chapters and several medical textbooks. His creative writing began with nonfiction short stories about memorable patients encountered over nearly fifty years of practice, stories about medical detective work with a human touch. Three of these won awards in literary contests, including first place in the 2022 F. Scott Fitzgerald Literary Festival Adult Short Story Contest. He holds a Certificate in Creative Writing from The Writers Studio at Simon Fraser University. His creative writing has also appeared in The Hill and in emerge 20: The Writer?s Studio Anthology, the RRNMF Neuromuscular Journal and As You Were: The Military Review. He maintains a website and a YouTube channel devoted to the neurologic examination.
