Practical Research Methods for Educators: Becoming an Evidence-Based Practitioner

  • Format:

This text offers a fresh perspective on developing research skills for educators whose career will be in the classroom. It is unique in identifying the functional requirements for conducting pragmatic research for everyday instructional personnel. Cipani argues that applied research in education needs to focus more on empirical tests of interventions and strategies that purportedly produce changes in student behavior and learning. This book makes the case that the development of research skills should focus on two broad objectives for educational personnel: to produce applied research that is relevant for classroom practice, and to be a wise consumer and critic of research findings reported in literature. \n
