Reeta Grewal is a Senior Reader in the Department of History at the Panjab University, Chandigarh, and an office-bearer of the Urban History Association of India. Besides writing a number of articles on aspects of urban history, she has edited Five Thousand Years of Urbanization: The Punjab Region, covering the history of urbanization in north-western India from the protohistoric to the present times. More recently, she has edited (jointly with Sheena Pall) Precolonial and Colonial Punjab: Society, Economy, Politics and Culture and the Five Centuries of Sikh Tradition: Ideology, Society, Politics and Culture all Published by Manohar.
