Mridul Eapen is currently Associate Fellow at the Centre for Development Studies, Trivandrum, Kerala. She has worked on the Textile Industry, particularly the Handloom Sector and the Automobile Industry. More recently her work has been in the areas of Employment and Rural Transformation, focusing specifically on Rural Industrialisation. Her published papers include: Consumption of Cotton Textiles in India'; Structure of the Manufacturing Workforce'; Rural Non-Agricultural Employment in Kerala: Some Emerging Tendencies'; and Rural Non-Farm Employment: Some Reflections on Petty Production'.
