Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva visit the town of Magadhpur in disguise. Parvati is impressed by the devotion of two people - the rich grain merchant, Mani Ram, and the poor washerman, Golak Nath. Shiva states that the merchant is shrewd while the washerman is careless with his blessings. Parvati challenges Shiva and tries to change Golak Nath?s destiny. Shiva agrees to this bet as long as both devotees get the same opportunities. Every time Parvati tries to help Golak Nath, he messes up. Mani Ram, on the other hand, gets richer. Will Golak Nath make the most of these blessings in disguise? Or will Parvati lose the bet with Shiva?
