Taxonomy of angiosperms is designed for B.Sc. (H) and M.Sc. Students of Botany in various universities. The book is divided into two parts; Part I deals with the principles of angiosperm taxonomy and Part II deals with families. The book is amply illustrated with examples. Some of the important chapters in part I comprise different classifications, nomenclature, biosystematics, modern trends in taxonomy, chemotaxonomy, numerical taxonomy etc. Part II deals with about 214 families of which 55 are discussed in detail and summaries accounts of the rest are given for advanced students.
A.V.S.S. Sambamurty, Senior Reader, Department of Botany, Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi, has been teaching Genetics and Taxonomy to B.Sc. (Gen.) and B.Sc. (Hons.) students for the past three decades. He is a Fellow of the Genetic Society of India and the Botanical Society of India, besides being a member of several scientific bodies. He has authored more than 15 textbooks for B.Sc. and M.Sc. students of Botany. Some of them include: Taxonomy of Angiosperms; A Textbook of Bryophytes, Pteridophytes, Gymnosperms and Paleobotany, and A Text book of Algae.
