A young boy from Salani village in Poonch decided to join the Indian Armed Forces. What is so unusual? The discerning fact is when Rifleman Aurangzeb decided to join the Indian Army, militancy was at its peak. His district was the breeding ground for infiltrators. Locals were scared of even associating with India and here was a man, who openly declared that he would follow his father's footsteps and don the olive - green. \n \nAurangzeb had witnessed multiple encounters with Lashkar militants as a young boy where militants would barge into their homes and threaten to kill his father because of his solidarity with India. Yet, he stood his ground and joined the forces. He was amongst the many who wore the uniform, yet he was different! Aurangzeb never hesitated to voice his opinion on the functioning of the administration in his district. He was a fearless man who always followed his heart. That heart also led him to a beautiful woman, who he had promised to marry, a promise that remained unfulfilled. It is a story of a man who was ready to fight his people for his country. \n \nIt is a story of a man who is the reason that today every home in Salani has at least one person in the forces \n \nIt is a story of a soldier who was ready to come home on Eid and could wait for the moon to shine. \n \nA braveheart who was kidnapped by the Lashkar, tortured, recorded and brutally murdered but the militants still lost because there was not a drop of fear in his eyes and he died with his head held high.
