A young aviator crashes his plane in the middle of nowhere. In the isolation of the blistering sand dunes, he meets a strange little boy - the little prince. Over the next ten days, as the aviator tries to fix his plane, he gradually learns the little prince’s extraordinary stories, of his own tiny planet, his beloved rose, the serious threat of baobabs and many more.\n\n\nAntoine de Saint-Exupery’s classic text has enthralled its readers, adults and children alike, over decades. The story is reflective of notions of loyalty, friendship, love and hope. The little prince’s simplicity throws the futility of endless human desires into a sharp relief, making it as profound as it is poetic.
Antoine de Saint-Exup?ry (Author, Illustrator) Writer and aviator Antoine de Saint-Exup?ry (19-1944), was born into an aristocratic French family at the turn of the century. Saint-Exup?ry was preoccupied with aviation from a young age; a passion which would lead him into the French Air Force. His first two books, Southern Mail and Night Flight, are distinguished by a poetic evocation of the romance and discipline of flying. Later works, including Wind, Sand and Stars and Flight to Arras, stress his humanistic philosophy. Saint-Exup?ry's popular children's book The Little Prince is also read by adults for its allegorical meaning. In 1944, Saint-Exup?ry's plane disappeared during a mission in World War II.
