First published in 1928, this book presents a discussion on the Theravada sect of Buddhism. Often called Hinayana Buddhism, it is distinctly different from the Mahayana sect of Buddhism. Individual exertion rather than community striving is the underlying current in Hinayana. This book is in the form of a series of papers that presents each fundamental aspect individually. Some of the aspects discussed are the Noble Eight Fold Paths, the theory of Karma, Nirvana and Brotherhood. About the Author Ernest Erle Power was the Chairman of the Java Buddhists Association.Q
