The trilogy of The Trail to Enlightenment is a major work on Jiddu Krishnamurti covering his life and teachings. It explores the theories, philosophies and science of spirituality that lead to enlightenment and re-examines them in the light of Krishnamurti to come upon surprising and encouraging findings.The first book, Part 1, describes the visible and invisible worlds in our environment and the laws governing them. It is about the metaphysics or the science of our surroundings. The second book, Part 2, is devoted to the life of Krishnamurti and teachings – the art of living. The third book, Part 3, blends the science with the art, to show why the art as learnt from the teachings can result in enlightenment. Mysteries are also investigated to come upon surprising findings.The three books are described as three lands along the trail to enlightenment. Together they tell a grand story about our surrounding, life, spirituality and enlightenment embedded in the saga of Krishnamurti.
Shuvendu Patnaik, an electrical engineer by profession, has been a member of the local committee for Krishnamurti Foundation India, Cuttack Centre, for many years. He has journeyed from childhood beliefs and superstitions to ancient wisdom and occultism contained in Theosophy, and then out of it to plunge deeply into a study of the life and teachings of Jiddu Krishnamurti. Passionately devoted to a study of the spiritual side of life for over 45 years, he has met and also lived with illuminated men, known about their spiritual experiences, and learnt from their insight about the hidden worlds of nature around us and their inviolable laws.
