When Munroe Bergdorf began to transition in 2009, her only goal was to be perceived as the gender by which she identified. More than a decade later, after establishing a successful career in the public eye, Bergdorf believes that transitioning is an ingrained part of the human experience, not a process that only trans people go through.\n\n\nIn this life-affirming and heartfelt book, the activist and model draws parallels between society and her own experiences – told through the lens of adolescence, sexuality, gender, relationships, identity and race – to bring us closer to a shared consciousness.\n\n
Munroe Bergdorf is an activist, writer and model. She has spoken on international panels from Oxford to Princeton University and contributed to publications including the Guardian, Evening Standard, Grazia, i-D, British Vogue, Elle, Teen Vogue and Paper Magazine. In 2019, she was awarded an honorary doctorate for her contributions campaigning for transgender rights by the University of Brighton, and was recently appointed a National Advocate for UN Women UK.
